Recently, Chengdu CHENXIAN announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xiamen Sanan semiconductor, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanan, on March 1, with a cooperation period of three years. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of micro LED chip development, mass transfer, production line automation, etc., with the goal of jointly developing the first micro led mass production product for end customers.

Chengdu CHENXIAN is a micro LED display company jointly established by weixinnuo and Chengdu state owned investment platform. Its main business is R & D and production of micro LED technology. Since 2020, vicino has transferred 506 micro LED display related patents and micro LED related equipment to Chengdu CHENXIAN.

At present, Chengdu CHENXIAN is building micro LED display device and module test line and pilot line, mainly focusing on massive transfer, drive and detection, chip design, colorization and other key technologies. The total investment of the project is 1.2 billion yuan, and it is expected to start the construction of mass production line in 2023.

Through strategic cooperation, San'an semiconductor and Chengdu CHENXIAN will give full play to their respective advantages in the field of display, and jointly expand their market share by virtue of their rich experience and mass production capacity in the field of display.

New display technology

In the field of micro LED display, besides Chengdu CHENXIAN, the partner of San'an semiconductor also has TCL Huaxing.

In March 2020, San'an semiconductor and TCL Huaxing reached a strategic cooperation. In June of the same year, the micro led joint laboratory was established to start the research and development and production of micro LED display technology, covering chip, transfer, bonding, colorization, detection, repair, drive, compensation, module and other technologies.

The two sides have jointly developed a 4-inch igzo glass based am micro LED display laboratory product.

In fact, not only micro LEDs, but also San'an's layout effect in the field of mini LED display is obvious. According to the company, Sanan Mini LED chips have been supplied to Samsung in batches, becoming the leading supplier of Samsung and signing a supply agreement.

At present, Samsung has released a number of mini LED backlight TVs, and plans to produce 2 million Mini led TVs this year. At the same time, Samsung has set up a factory in Vietnam to expand its mini LED production line and prepare for mass production of mini LED TV. As its mini LED chip supplier, San'an will continue to benefit in the future.

Next, Hubei San'an and Quanzhou San'an Mini / micro LED production capacity will be released soon. With the help of TCL Huaxing, Chengdu CHENXIAN, Samsung and other large display manufacturers, San'an's original unshakable position in the new display market will be further enhanced.
